Version 7.x-2.04 Release of Open Framework

We have tagged our first official stable release of Open Framework (7.x-2.04), which will be rolled out to Stanford Sites and the Collaboration Tools Installer on April 9th, 2013.

What's changed since February 4th:

  • Resolved jQuery conflict
  • Resolved menu drop-down behavior issue (where it was applying to all menus)
  • Upgraded to Bootstrap 2.3.1
  • Created Admin Shortcuts region for logged in users
  • CSS/template optimization
  • Added defaults for theme settings
  • IE testing and fixes
  • Responsive block behavior and style adjustments
  • Updated search box styles
  • Added print styles
  • Accessibility review and fixes
  • New logo/screenshot
  • Revised subtheme kit

And more. See the full commit history online.

Our upcoming release cycle:

  • We are now working on a quarterly release cycle for Open Framework and the family of Stanford-branded subthemes built on OFW.
  • Our next release to the Stanford community will be sometime mid-late June.
  • In the meantime, will be incorporating patches, doing updates to the theme based on the issue queue for Version 2 milestone on Github.

We hope in the coming month(s) to work on releasing Open Framework as a project on Drupal.org. The main thing we need to figure out in order to do this is remove the licensing conflict from including Twitter Bootstrap. We may instead have to not bundle Twitter Bootstrap with the theme, and have uses download it elsewhere.

We continue to welcome your feedback, contributions, patches, and support on Github.
